reunion island pool club, city

Now THIS is the kind of water play Mamma and the kids can both enjoy! The Reunion Island Pool Club magically appeared on a rooftop above Melbourne Central recently and it is AMAZING! Although it has a bar - it doesn’t mean they don’t cater for kids here, with floaties and rings and rubber duckies, and even some games dotted around the space.

It’s so pretty here, the blues and greens and orange make it feel like you could be in the Caribbean. The smell of the cedar spas, food aromas and sunscreen just scream SUMMER! The staff are soooo friendly, and the food (provided by Easeys kiosk) is just delicious with burgers, toasties, tacos, chips and mac n cheese options.

So how does it work? Book your pool online (they do take walk ins if there are pools available), for an hour or more. Roll up, and get changed in one of the change rooms, and pop yourself in! The waitress will come and take your order so you can just chill. The pools are temperature controlled so you can cool down on hot days or warm up on the cooler ones. You can also just come and hang out in the awesome space and enjoy the city views without getting your feet wet.

There are various pool sizes - 4-6 people, 8-10 people and 10-12 people. Mr 6 could stand up in the centre and still keep his head above water. But I still felt more comfortable when they were in the inflatable rings. Make sure you have a great playlist on your phone or access to Spotify too because each pool has its own UE Boom speaker.

The general store gives you access to towels, visors, stubby holders too!

Mamma's special mentions: Melbourne Central and all its shops, movies, Strike bowling and eateries is right here for you to enjoy before or after your swim!
