Mamma loves supporting a social enterprise initiative and Moon Rabbit is a real treat! The cafe is run by The Bridge, a community organisation supporting social and educational training programs for adults with extra needs. They are also extremely conscientious about the environment and waste minimisation, banning disposable coffee cups and offering donated glass jars to take home and reuse instead. With zero waste being the aim and strategies in place (like weighing scraps) in order to continue to improve, it’s such impressive dedication that Mamma really admires.

We can’t wait to be able to dine in again at Moon Rabbit’s lovely, kid friendly venue in Preston but in the meantime we’re so excited that they have launched a new Covid friendly venture: On The Hop mobile cafe! Being committed to minimising waste they’ve developed a system for serving their take away food and drinks. You can either BYO keep cup or mug, BORROW a cup or jar to return or BUY in to a system called The Cup Exchange (TCX). For $3 you can purchase a TCX membership which gives you 2 cups in your preferred size which can be returned to a drop box on your next visit. More details HERE. BYO plates/containers for food are also encouraged so that waste can be completely minimised.
