two beans and a farm (carome homestead), mernda

This is a real treat, folks! A country escape paradise! Built in 1861 from local Bluestone, the homestead is glorious. This whole venue is so tranquil and located on the Plenty River - it has amazing, picturesque surroundings!

Let’s talk about the food - using as much local produce - jam and even cordial - as they can, the cafe is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner (on Fridays and Saturdays), serving rustic Australian, Spanish, French and South American inspired food. The desserts are also all made onsite! YUM! You can choose any number of different spots to dine, from the four cosy indoor spaces to the outdoor garden or verandah area FULL of toys for the kids to play with!

The kids will just love the amazing outdoor play area which has recently been updated. It includes LOTS of toys, a sand pit, a cubby house and one seriously incredible collection of cars and bikes (of allll sizes!) that they can ride in the spacious surrounds.

You might be lucky enough to be greeted by kangaroos and joeys on arrival! And there are friendly magpies to serenade you as you soak up the view on the verandah!

This place is a rare gem and Mamma says - you simply have to visit!

Mamma's special mention: Mernda Adventure Park is great for some more local fun!
