new york, new york for kids at ngv, melbourne

Wowee - Mamma can't get enough of the NGV and their newest exhibition is awesome. The FREE New York New York Kids Exhibition definitely needs to go on your 'mamma's must do' list - pronto!

There is a some great hands on fun to have with the city building blocks, you and the kids can be the architect of your very own New York city skyline. There is also a cool marble run with shiny marbles shooting from point to point, a digital phone booth (always fun!), and a quiz for the little people to test their knowledge about New York City landmarks - this took Mamma back to our last USA visit.. ahh the memories!

Mamma says you might not get to check out everything on one visit (we have already been twice!) and that is ok, it is free and here until October, so plenty of time, no need to be swift - Welcome to New York, remember, it's been waitin' for YOU!

This exhibition is happening at the same time as the world premiere exhibition, MoMA at NGV: 130 Years of Modern and Contemporary Art - more of a grown up exhibition and it is a ticketed event but worth a look if you get a chance.

Mamma's special mentions: The free exhibition is open to everyone. The outdoor space at the National Gallery is the perfect place to enjoy some lunch from the NGV Cafe and a little run around for the little people.

Check out what happened when the Cookie Monster and Zoe from Sesame Street checked out the exhibition last weekend.
