artful splodgers, carlton north

Artful Splodgers in Carlton is a place for learning, discovery and making mess. Each week there are different themes and activities for babies and toddlers aged 0–5s to engage in. Carers and little ones are encouraged to participate freely in the unstructured creative play program. The space is set up with a range of sensory, art and crafts activities for children to explore and have fun with at their own pace.

Lisa the founder and educator of each session is a qualified teacher with a love of art. She was inspired to begin these lessons, thanks to her own little ones curiosity and development.

Before the lesson ends little ones are gathered together for a storytime and activity. This week children learnt about animals and different textures. It was a nice way to finish the class making the children feel included.

All materials are provided including art smocks, but it is recommend that everyone wears clothes that you don’t mind getting messy!

Tea and coffee is also available for adults!

Mamma's special mention: Feeling hungry? Check out The Butcher's Den. They have a great outdoor space with sandpit and toys for the little ones to play plus some great food too
