Mamma and the crew love a Sunday morning stroll. Even better when there is somewhere that the dogs can have a great walk, we can enjoy some beautiful views, have a game of wildlife spotting and kids get a playground at the end. Westerfolds Park is this spot.
This massive green space which runs along side the Main Yarra Trail, is ideal for a bike or a pram ride, with sealed paths winding through the 120 hectares of parkland. There are plenty of hills and some vertical challenges along the 4.6km Westerfolds Loop Track. But we love the reward of making it to the 'castle' at the top of the hill. The Manor House (closed) at the highest point of the park, is a great resting spot before completing your loop. The kids are always on the look out for the Eastern Grey Kangaroos and maybe a cheeky wombat as we meander along the track.
The best way for us to complete our morning out in the great outdoors, is with a play at the playground. The wooden adventure style playground has had better days, but the little ones never mind. Plenty of slides, a boat and a swing is all you need after being cooped up in a pram.

Mamma's special mentions: If you are keen for some more walking, but with a coffee reward at the end this time, follow the Main Yarra Trail to the East and uncover the treasure of Petty's Orchard
