the eastern bloc, coburg

The Eastern Bloc is one of those feel-good, family-run cafes that is perfect to bring the little ones to. The owners are lovely and are great with the kids.

It’s spacious, has high chairs and food the kids will love and there are also books, toys and a little kid-sized table to play at.

We are loving the Turkish menu - Mamma’s current breakfast obsession is the Menemen which is baked eggs with peppers, tomatoes and spices served with Turkish bread - YUM! There’s also incredible beef Manti which is a Turkish dish that’s similar to Ravioli. You can of course get all your classic Australian breakfast staples like bacon and eggs too!

And you won’t want to go past the take away cabinet on your way out! It’s full of home made sweets and savouries (the Börek is SO good!) Grab a coffee and a treat to go!

Mamma’s special mention: You are in the PERFECT spot to check out the level crossing removal upgrade around Coburg and Moreland stations. Keep walking further along the path and you’ll discover playgrounds, a dog park, table tennis, basketball courts and a skate and parkour park!
