theodore's, brunswick

Mamma is so grateful to have found a cool and cosy place like this, run by nice people who are toddler parents and just GET it!

Tucked away in the backstreets of Brunswick is the gorgeous Theodore’s, or ‘Ted’s’ to the locals. It’s the new venture of a local family - named after their special little guy - with fair trade and sustainability at its forefront. It’s a ‘refreshment service’, kid-friendly snack bar/cafe and also the perfect spot for a tipple in the evening. You’ll love it for brunch, lunch, an evening meal and everything in between. The decor is classic and thoughtfully styled with exposed brick and timber lined walls, booth style seating and vintage touches from fellow local Mum Hey Jude Workshop. It’s certainly a place it feels nice to be, whether you’re catching up with friends of an evening or swinging by with kids in tow.

The menu is an impossibly delicious selection of tastiness (Mamma says you MUST try the house baked pretzels and the charred broccoli roll!) with a carefully selected wine and cocktail list as well as awesome coffee. There’s a bottomless brunch featuring breakfast cocktails - perfect for the summer season and a Friday afternoon ‘wine and whiners’ happy hour for parents and little ones (a glass of wine and a snack for $15 between 4pm-5pm wednesday - saturday) they also host private functions and run taco nights! They’ve really thought of everything.

Do yourself a favour and pop this one on the list for your next family meal or social catch up with or without the kids!

mamma's special mention:  Have you checked out the cool New Brunswick playground at Belleke-bek Park?
