tokyo lamington, carlton

The Lamington has always been an Aussie favourite. A soft sponge dipped in chocolate and covered all over with desiccated coconut. Mamma’s mouth is watering just thinking about it. Now, what about a blueberry cheesecake Lamington or a Snickers Lamington filled with chocolate, peanut butter and caramel? What about a Finger Bun Lamington? Now that sounds good! Butter and bread what's not to like?

Just be warned Mamma and little Miss 8 couldn't stop at one.

This place also makes some really delicious pastries too. There are quiches, pies, sausages and Onigiri which are made to order. There are cookies and coffee too. Tokyo Lamington has bench seats and a table for dine-in but Mamma says to grab a takeaway and head to the park for play and sunshine.

Mamma’s special mentions: Lincoln Square in Carlton is a very special playground - set on the site of what was formerly Melbourne’s oldest playground - there’s heaps to discover - the kids will really love it!
