Looking for a magical afternoon? Cleveland Winery is such a picturesque spot, where the hours seem to just slip away. Enjoy a wood fired pizza on the balcony of the Carriage House Restaurant, overlooking the huge vineyard, complete with a lake, floral gardens and fields full of resident animals like alpacas, highland cows, sheep and goats!
Children have miles to roam and play and dogs are allowed to come and hang out too (on lead). You are free to go for a stroll and explore the vineyard. You may also feed the alpacas! (Ask at the restaurant first).
After lunch you can wander into the rustic looking barn which houses a staircase leading to an underground cellar door! Wow, what a unique experience. Taste local wines and also those from the vineyard itself. The staff are friendly and down to earth and they really know their wine! If you like something, make sure you grab a bottle to take home as the Cleveland brand wine is not available anywhere else!
The winery also hosts weddings and events and you can make a weekend of it and stay overnight in one of the options for accomodation onsite. During spring there is ‘Pizza and Pooches’, a weekly Sunday dog friendly lunch! Mamma also looks forward to summer when a grape-stomping ‘pinot and pétanque’ festival happens annually!
Mamma's special mentions: If you’ve never been, you must check out Hanging Rock Reserve while you’re in the area!
