Mamma’s got the hot scoop for dinner – literally! After 10 years of creating delicious hand-made gnocchis, lasagnes, pizza bases, pastas and sauces and selling out at farmers markets and gourmet delis, Take Me Home have recently opened their Gnoccheria - the first of its kind - at the shop front of their commercial kitchen in Coburg. Here they sell beautiful, meticulously created, Italian meals for you to take away and prepare at home.
The gnocchi is made fresh on the bench in front of you and is an absolute treat to watch. There are daily alternating mouth-watering flavours like Pumpkin, Saffron & Burnt Butter, Spinach, Basil & Parmesan, Truffle Honey & Ricotta, Blue Cheese, Pepperberry & Parmesan, Beetroot, Carrot & Turmeric, Spinach & Ricotta, Goats Cheese and classic Potato (and many more!)
The shop front also sells fresh pastas, lasagnes, sauces, passatas, pizza bases and special flavoured butters – sage, garlic, fennel pollen etc - for frying the gnocchi (YUM). Mamma particularly loves the selection of dietary friendly options including vegan and gluten free - lots of the selection is also naturally low sodium for the little ones. Mamma and the family’s current obsession is the Pumpkin, Pine Nut and Sage pasta sauce!
A visit to the Gnoccheria is a real experience. Owners, Trent and Felicity are the real deal – passionate about preserving the art of hand-made pasta (an art which has been a part of each of their lives since childhood) and explaining with love, how to carefully prepare your meal (and even which wine to pair it with!) when you arrive home. It’s a real pleasure to chat with people who so clearly love what they do and it’s an even greater pleasure to eat their incredible food!
