If you're keen to stretch your art and culture legs but not sure your kids are ready for a gallery then Mamma says pack your picnic rug and go exploring in the Sculpture Gardens in the stunning grounds of the Heide Museum of Modern Art. Entry to the gardens and surrounds is free and best of all you can soak up some fab pieces of art and never have to be worried about the noise your super excited toddlers can make running through a gallery. The sculptures vary in size, in styles and are scattered all throughout the property - it makes for a wonderful game to see how many different things the kids can spot. If you are after a little more direction as you are exploring the parks, check out the resources available on the Heide website to give you some ideas on what to look for. There is also the fantastic Cafe Vue onsite too for lunch or order a picnic hamper to take with you while you explore (24 hours notice is required).
Mamma's special mention: Keep you eye out for kids programs that run at Heide on weekends and school holidays as well as Art Bubs. They are very popular and can sell out quickly so don't hesitate in booking.
