vegie bar, fitzroy

The corner brick building with the neon sign has been an institution in Fitzroy culture as long as Mamma can remember. Hello Vegie Bar! It’s been a while between visits.

This place is everything family friendly. From their freshly squeezed juices, rustic chips, pizzas, cakes and sweets. Not to mention the very lovely staff, who were happy to share a joke and accomodate every little persons requests.

EVERYTHING on the menu is vegetarian with loads of vegan options. Mamma and little Miss 8 opted for the Holy Smokes pizza. Who said a vegan burger on a pizza wouldn’t be delicious? This pizza was AMAZING! Rich Napoli sauce, ground and flame-roasted burger patties, red onion, sliced dill pickles, cheese and special burger sauce. Finished with a dash of spring onion. who would have thought!

These guys have just opened a Vegan Ice Cream shop, Girls and Boys, next door. Mamma hasn’t tried it yet but if we leave as happy as we did at the Vegie Bar, then it’s sure to be delicious.
